Oct 2nd 2012 – Day 91… Do You Think Your Opinion is Worth Listening to?

Written By: Jim Tuffin - Oct• 02•12

Yesterday was a very quiet day which allowed me to take some time out to consider what I might do to keep myself busy over the next few months … and years!

An idea has come to mind, inspired by the news reports on the Labour Party Conference in Manchester about what the Labour party would like to do to repair the damage that our economy has experienced over the last decade or so.

I have heard so many opinions and ideas from dozens of politicians from all parties that it makes me wonder if they actually understand the situation we are in, and if they have any real solutions that stand a chance of working.

For example, the three major parties are talking about the million plus unemployed under the age of 23 who are not working and are becoming idle. Their concern is that this will create a generation of people who do not have any work ethics.

This has been a strong thread since late last year and I wonder why they do not understand that there are older people (and other groups) who are also unemployed who have the work ethic but just can’t find employment.

As much as they talk about these things, if there are no jobs … there are no jobs!

I am wondering what the ‘ordinary’ people in the street think? Do they agree in principle with what politicians are saying? Do politician actually understand the issues? Are historical facts no longer relevant in this day and age? Do ‘ordinary’ people have ideas and opinions of their own?

Many will argue that ‘ordinary’ people do not understand economics or how the country works. No, they may not, but they do have an opinion and should be listened to. It has always maddened me that during the elections, political candidates come knocking at my door asking me to vote for them. I know that once the election is over I will not see or hear from them again until the next election. They are supposed to represent us, but actually represent themselves or worse still, the desires and ambitions of their political parties and leaders!

I would love to create a website that allows ‘ordinary’ people, like you and me, to have our say even if we don’t really understand the way things work. After all, very successful businesses such as Google and Facebook have been successful mainly because they try and provide their customers with what the CUSTOMER wants.

What do you think? Is it a good idea? Would you like to speak you mind?

Anyway, I’ll get off my horse now and let him have a few hours grazing in his paddock! :)

On the personal side, I can report that all is well with me, except I noticed that my alkali levels had dropped this morning to about 7.0 which is below the ideal level, although higher than most people in the western world. I’m not sure how that happened because yesterday I did not deviate from my diet.

Today I will focus a little more on my diet, and plan to eat a good sized salad for my main meal which contributes in a large way to keeping the level around about 7.365 which is the idea value.

I’m also planning to do some walking today to see if that helps my back pain a little. It’s not the walking as such but getting out of my office chair and away from the computer. I just hope that it doesn’t rain until I get back.

Other than that, I am very positive and looking forward to many years of a healthy lifestyle and to be able to help other and particularly to ENCOURGE them not to give up and to look after themselves in a better way than perhaps they are doing at this moment.

If I can assist you in any way, please feel free to contact me.

Enjoy your day! :)
