The Continuity Marketing Centre
Continuity Marketing is a technique for marketing higher priced products over a period of time. A good example is the collecting of books by buying them on a monthly basis. Other examples include limited edition prints of paintings, wines, models etc. In this age if information, Continuity Marketing is used to market information products, training, seminar follow-up etc. to niche markets on a cyclic basis. The Internet has increased the benefits of this type of approach by allowing global communities of people interested in the specific niche, to participate and communicate together.
A lot of businesses have tried to use the Internet as a continuity tool, i.e. with blogs, newsletters, downloads, clubs etc. Although they do have a level of success, longer term customers cancel as they get little benefit. Why? Because most will not bother to read the material offered. Why? Because they don’t have time or simply forget!
Sending a fortnightly or monthly CD is different. It is recognised as one of the very best training tools available. People play them in their cars as they travel to work. Getting it in the post, reminds you to listen to it. Of course the audio information is also available on line and can also be downloaded onto an iPod or similar.
In addition Continuity Marketing is a hugely valuable facility for any training or seminar company in that it allows them to increase their income by either selling a series of monthly followup CD’s to participants or if selling a Continuity Series to market other products and services including training seminar. One of the biggest complaints I hear from Self Improvement Coaches who run seminar type events is that the attendees love the content, are full of energy and all fired up, yet when they go home they fail to take any action.
Although there are a huge number of benefits for both the seller and the buyer, the downside is that it is expensive to set-up, complex to operate and needs a high level of expertise to make it work properly. Having working for over 15 years in the Continuity business and having being trained and mentored by the original founder of Book Club Associates I am taking all that, plus much more expertise from outside and creating a complete business to operate Continuity programmes on behalf of clients. They worry about the content, (with our help of course), and we do everything else. Simple as that! Although we are not launching until sometime in the near future we already have a number of clients who see the potential and are committed to take their ideas forward.
